I did not realize that we had German POW camps here in the US. I've been to a couple of the Japanese camps. Now I've got to put this museum on my list of places to see. What an incredible Nativity scene they created.
I am in the camp of knowing zero about his story before this very minute. Just as eluded to earlier, the strangeness of German POWs commemorating a little Jewish baby is remarkable. With Christmas soon upon us, I find this little known war occurrence heartwarming. Maybe there really is hope for mankind.

ReplyDeleteWere the figures hand carved? We saw a museum exhibit about the interred Italians during WWII, was this similar?
